Hello! I have dark skin and I have very dark spots on my face left over from acne. Now, I don't eat alot of what would be called junk food and incorporate alot of fruits and water into my diet. Is there anything that is guaranteed to work like any creams that would help me to fade the spots and gain an even complextion? This is something that has beenn bothering me for quite some time and I would truly like some help please. Especially from people who have had similar problems and have found a lasting solution. Thank you!How would I get rid of my brown scars left over form acne?
Retin-a is one of the most popular treatments for scarring, it's a prescription so you have to see a dermatologist before you can use it. It takes a months to kick in, but it minimizes the scarring quite a bit.How would I get rid of my brown scars left over form acne?
There are two things I recommend- 1 being a series of chemical peels- I just did a series of 3 and most of my ';stuff'; is gone and my skin is smooth (I had 3 50% glycolic acid peels).
2- If you don't want to go the peel route there are a variety of skin lighteners- 1 is a prescription called Tri-Luma which is a higher percentage of Hydroquinone, retin-a and one other thing I can't recall BUT you have to go to the Drs. and the script (where I live) is $130.00 and it can take up to 6 months to see maximim results. There is also a non prescription w/4% Hydroquinone called Lustra as well, and you can buy it online for about $45.00. Good luck!

How come when you have clear skin and you use products for acne it can make your skin worse?
I have really clear skin that's completely blemish free and I used Clearasil and tried Proactive once. I assumed that since these products improve the skin of people with acne, that they would make my skin extra clear but much to my dismay, I started getting zits after a while of using the Clearasil. Obviously, I never used the products again but does anybody know why this happened? How come when you have clear skin and you use products for acne it can make your skin worse?
clearasil is bleach. don't use it; it's really bad and drying for your skin.
use the right products for your skin type. you probabely have sensitive skin, and are breaking out due to the harsh acne-fighting chemicals used in proactiv. proactiv made my skin worse as well.
acne products usually contain oil fighting ingredients to provent pimples. if you have normal skin and use these oil fighting ingredients then you will have increased sebum (oil) production because your skin thinks it needs to produce more oil because it's dry.
that's why you always have to use a moisturizer, even if you have oily skin.
you probabely have sensitive or normal skin, and both of those types would benefit from cetaphil. but you may not need to use anything on your face, and nothing is better than harsh products.
hope i helped. How come when you have clear skin and you use products for acne it can make your skin worse?
omg the same thing happened to me!! proactiv made my skn even worse! nd i was lyk wtf. mayb u should try clinique or murad acne complex it worked 4 me :) Report Abuse
Blemishes are caused by oils and dirt trapped in the pores of your skin. Many peoples' blemish problems are a result of too much oils and dirt on their skin or large pores susceptible to these. Many acne products are designed to inhibit the production and presence of oils on the skin. However, over use or use on skin that is already dry can trigger the skin to produce more oils and it can actually have an adverse affect and cause blemishes.
Why would you use a product that you have no use for?
it was probably bringing up all of the dirt and nasty stuff in your pores to the surface so you cant get them outjust keep doing it and the zits will become crusty and thats when you use a mask and scrucb and lotion on your face and your will become acne free and your skin will probably look cleaner and fresher then ever before
The products you mentioned are not suitable for your skin since they're meant for blemishes.
These products are primarily designed to dry up the zits, so to use them on clear skin would in essence overdry your skin and make your oil glands which are normal to begin with, go into overdrive.
Stick with products for normal skin, instead.

How can i make my acne appear less inflamed with makeup?
Hi,
I've recently realised I have been caking my makeup.
I have no idea how to successfully cover my acne.
Please DO NOT include acne medications, such as proactive, or any other skin care or treatment. I am already prescibed to the drug roaccutain and it is already in the progress of clearing my acne.
I am looking to reduce redness in my pimples and learn how to apply my foundation and concealer.
Many thanks,
KirbyHow can i make my acne appear less inflamed with makeup?
This may sound weird, but my best friend SWEARS by this - put a drop of Visine on your red pimple and it makes the redness fade. I've never done it, but she tells me it works great! Also, like the answerer above me said, Bare Minerals works really well for helping acne! How can i make my acne appear less inflamed with makeup?
A liquid concealer is the best for covering redness and pimples. If you can get one with a sponge tip applicator (like the Maybelline ones- also, Yves Saint Laurent make a magic concealer called Radiant Touch, it's amazing for hiding spots and scars!) they are great for dabbing on the areas that you need to cover and then pressing with your finger to cover the spots. If you pat it on instead of rubbing it on, it'll cancel out the redness better and look more even undearneath your powder.
My biggest tip- make sure you buy a concealer that is a couple of shades lighter than your skintone (so, a bit lighter than you would get in a foundation) I made the mistake of getting concealer that was too dark, and it looked horrible and made the areas stand out darker instead of blending in! If you're worried about your face looking too cakey and shiny, then I suggest skipping the foundation...I have found that if I use concealer on the areas that I need it, a powder-based foundation over the top is much better! Try it out, it will help to absorb the oil and will provide and matte finish instead of a shiny liquid look.
i suggest applyinga moisturizing lotion to your face before applying any make-up. then buy a powder concealer (hard to find though) and slightly press onto your skin. then add a smooth layer of foundation over your entire face, but make it a THIN layer. my friend has acne %26amp; that's how she does it. it seems like it takes a long time to do, but it really doesn't once you've practiced.

hi,
makeup iz bad for u if u have oily prone skin. and obviously YOU have that. anywho. do not wear makeup until ur acne has cleared up with the medication u got. let the progress get better dont cake your makeup becuz gurlz with acne that cake their makeup look UGLY. n truzt me u dnt want ppl sayin dat bout u it lookz gross. anyway like i said STOP PUTTING ON UR MAKEUP LYK A CAKE FACE and let ur acne clear up. wen it haz cleared up THEN u can wear ur makeup with ur clear skin :]
i know it might be kinda pricey, but get bare minerals. i have this, (i never/rarely have acne) and now i never get it. its so smooth and it actually improves your skin over time. its almost impossible to 'cake' it on. you can get it at ulta or online. just swirl, tap and buff!
any concealer with a green tinge yea i kno its green but the color of it helps the red be less noticable but dont just rely on concealer cuz if u just leave ur acne alone it wont be so red
the redness of ur acne could even probably be from your make up to
Go bare for a bit. The make-up is making it worse! I promice go without it for a week, i tryed the make-up once then i took my friends word for it, went bare... and now my skin is clear and less oily!
A slightly greener concealer will make the red less noticeable.

How do I get rid of dry, flaky skin after having used acne cream?
I used some acne cream on my face last week, and it got rid of my spots completely, but it's left my skin feeling like sandpaper, I can't wear makeup and it's flaking visibly. I've tried a few mousturisors but they're not helping. Is there any other way, preferably without having to buy anything especially? How do I get rid of dry, flaky skin after having used acne cream?
I could tell you to use some sort of dermal regenerating lotion, or a moisturizing facial mask, but I'm sure you already know that. But try to think what you can do internally to improve your skin health. Some suggetions;Drink Plenty of water, the body needs to be hydrated and your skin needs water from the inside to have a healthy glow on the outside. Stop drinking soda and cheap fake juice drinks. Take vitamin supplements especially ones designed to promote healthy skin such as ';Natrol Omega 3 Complex';. Also, I know this will be hard to do in the summer but....STAY OUT OF THE SUN! A little sunlight is a good thing for the skin but don't over do it. Your skin is especially sensitive to sunlight especially after using topical ointments for acne. Hope that helps, good luck. How do I get rid of dry, flaky skin after having used acne cream?
which acne cream did u use?? b/c i am having problems with scars!
Lay off the cream and pile on moisturiser.
well this happens if you use a lot, this happens to a lot of people [including me] to get rid of it you should try washing your face regularly and using an astringent [such as witch hazel] and moisterizor. Your skin just cleaned out your pores and it is making your pores smaller thus leaving your skin flakey. I'm not an expert so try going to: www.acne.com
Good luck!!!!

If the problem persists, you may need to have a dermatologist prescribe you something stronger than an over the counter moisturizer.
Find a source where you can get 100% shea butter. My husband has some acne (he's 50!) and also gets sebhorrea. A pharmacist told him to use a 'cortizone cream' and our doctor agreed. It 'helped' but he has to keep using it every day, or the 'flaking' starts again. I went into a 'soap' store, and was talking to the clerk about my 'dry skin' for which I use 'lavender' soap with shea butter. I told her about my husband's sebhorrea, and she said STOP using ANYTHING with 'sodium laurel' or 'sodium laureth' in it (read the ingredients ... MOST soaps and shampoos have one of those in them) and suggested I buy him 'shea butter' soap (it's 20% shea butter) and start using 100% shea butter instead of the cortizone cream. I did ... and my husband's sebhorrea is 'nearly gone.' WOW. Shea butter is 'very good' for the skin, so if yours is 'dry and flaky' then I think you should use it. It's EXPENSIVE ($20 for a 2.5 oz can) but you don't need to use very much ... and it's actually a lot LESS EXPENSIVE than any 'cream' or 'moisturizer' you can buy from the 'big cosmetic companies.'
well iknow you want to not buy anything but try elemis sos emergency cream it works a treat and it also gets rid of spots for people with drier skin.
if not then use a strong moisturiser i would recomend vasline intensive care apply it twice a day
just give it time and hopefully it will clear up
What kind did you use? Garnier Fructis has some that feel really good on dry skin (I have your problem, too)
You could try a facial scrub or use something a tad rough to slough off dead skin.
Dry skin has no permanent cure but the skin can be softened and made smoother by using a few home remedies. There are many helpful tips to cure dry skin at http://useinfo-dryskin.blogspot.com/
The dry skin caused by the chemical burn on your face will lead to a nice new outbreak because the flaking skin will block your pores.
Try this:
In the shower, use a natural soap and soap up your face. Using about a tablespoon of baking soda, gently scrub your face. You're removing the dead skin, not the skin that's still living.
After the shower, a quick oatmeal mask:
2 tablespoons powdered oatmeal (stick PLAIN oatmeal in the blender or food processor to powder it.)
1-2 tablespoons honey - just to make a thick paste.
Put all over your face. You'll feel relief from the itching almost instantly. Leave it on for about fifteen minutes. About the amount of time it takes you to get dressed and tie your shoes.
Rinse with warm water. DON'T rinse with cold. Cold water slams your pores shut so they can't excrete the bacteria and dead skin cells associated with acne.
Kill the bacteria that causes acne, Propionibacterium acnes, with witch hazel.
Finish it all off with a protective layer of vegetable oil such as sunflower (rich in vitamin E), jojoba (humectant that draws moisture to the skin) or simply extra virgin olive oil. Just a dab is enough. All you are doing is a thin protective layer. It should almost immediately absorb into the skin, not look like a buttered turkey.

What is a fast and easy way to get rid of my acne?
There isn't very much of it, but i want my skin to be mostly clear for Thanksgiving. What is a fast and easy way to get rid of my acne?
Drink plenty of water and use a gentle
face cleanser. When I start to break out
a little, I usually stay away from the greasy
foods, drink water and use my St. Ives apricot
scrub and L'oreal (dunno if I spelled that right. lol)
facial toner. Face usually gets better in 3-4 days.
And when I get big pimples, I put a hot cloth
on it, to open it up and put on my Clearasil
Vanishing Acne cream 2 times a day. And its
usually gone in 2-3 days. That stuff is strong though,
its 10% salicylic acid. What is a fast and easy way to get rid of my acne?

Is it normal for your acne to get worse when you first start using tazorac cream?
Tazorac cream does help reduce inflammation of acne by keeping the skin pores clear. What you need to do is be sure that you wash your face and applying afterwards when dry.
Check with your doctor if there is still no improvement after a month of continuous daily application. There might be a case that you are allergic to one of the ingredients.

Is it a good idea to get a food allergy test for acne?
I have horrible acne and I've done pretty much everything to cure it! I started changing my acne to see if it improves but I was wondering if there was something that I'm allergic to that could be causing my horrible acne!
Is this a good idea? Or am I just wasting my time?
Thanks! Is it a good idea to get a food allergy test for acne?
I'd say it's a good idea.
My brother's acne gets worse when he eats dairy products, for example. Is it a good idea to get a food allergy test for acne?
Certain bacterias (with help from the oil in your skin, oftentimes) are the cause of acne. While food allergies can cause rashes, they don't cause acne.
A friend of mine found that for some reason her acne was made worse by using a laundry detergent she didn't realize she was allergic to, so maybe you could try changing to all unscented/sensitive (or baby) soaps, detergents, and shampoo and lotion.
If you have a rash on your belly, chest, or face that is mostly red with some bumps that don't have whiteheads and never develop them, those could be associated with food. If you only eat a food you are allergic to occasionally, these will go and come; if you are a little allergic to something you eat regularly, these rashes will just be hanging out.
If you get allergy tested, go ahead and get tested for mold and pollen and pets, etc, too--might as well!! That can be helped with allergy shots, while foods you are allergic to you can just avoid.
Yeah you might as well because you need to rule out as many options as possible. My sister suffers from getting spots, and it took 3 years to find out that she is allergic to dairy products! Just check just to make sure and hopefully your doctor can make your acne a lot better! :)

Can you help reccomend a acne wash that works? read below for skin specifics?
I know a young girl almost twelve who has a light amount of acne. But maybe not for long. Anyways, she has light skin(not super light) with freckles and has acne that are little red spots, but not sores. Although when she picks at them they become red, blotchy spots or litle scars. Her ';clean and clear:oil free foaming facial cleanser'; doesnt work. Any suggestions on acne washes? Can you help reccomend a acne wash that works? read below for skin specifics?
actually i had a troubling acne problem. There are 3 ways to fight the war against acne: over the counter treatments (like proactive or department store acne face washes), dermatologist prescribed ointments or creams (such as differin), or prescribed oral medications. I have tried all 3 and I will give you the rundown on them all.
OVER THE COUNTER TREATMENTS:
most acne face washes contain benzoyl peroxide, which is most effective for whiteheads and teenage acne. But sometimes (like in my case), even if you are a teenager benzoyl peroxide products may not be effective. What I have found to be highly effective in both teenage and adult acne, %26amp; also whiteheads and blackheads, are products with Solicylic acid. If the 12 year old girl your refering to really likes Clean %26amp; Clear products I would recomend their blackhead clearing scrub. When I used it, i saw improvement in my acne in about a couple of weeks.
DERMATOLOGIST PRESCIBED OINTMENTS/GELS:
These types of medication are not too expensive depending on which ones you use. On average they may run from around $45-120 a tube. I used Differin which was about $50. All you do is apply the cream once a day after cleansing the face. The tubes usually last about a month or so and usually releive the acne symptoms within a couple of weeks. The problem with these products is that they quite frequently cause skin irratation (redness and peeling).
ORAL MEDICATIONS:
I would suggest that she go to her doctor and ask about an antibacterial medication called MINOCYCLINE. It's a pill taken twice a day and is very inexpensive, in fact most insurance companies will cover it. My great-grandma and I are covered by medicare and they are able to pay the full cost. This type of drug doesn't need to be prescribed by a derm, you can get a prescription from your family doctor or any clinic. With this medication, her face should be totally acne free within 3 weeks. I've been using it for a year and a half and have not had a pimple since. hope this helps. Can you help reccomend a acne wash that works? read below for skin specifics?
First of all NEVER EVER PICK AT YOUR ACNE IT CREATED SCARS
Neutrogena products and Clean %26amp; Clear would be perfect for her. A wash toner and moisturizer with SPF but oil free would be a good regimen for a young girl. also vitamins!

How long should u give ur skin to start to show improvement once u have started using new products for acne?
OK, people say its goin to get worse before it gets better if its an effective product. So how long do you wait to see if its goin to get worse and then better? How much time goes by before you know its just getting worse and its not going to get better? Some people's skin reacts to new products before its starts to work. So how long before you know its either making it worse or not helping? How long do you wait to see if its going to get better? Hope you can help, thanks. How long should u give ur skin to start to show improvement once u have started using new products for acne?
You're going to have the give the product 4-8 weeks to see if it works.
Some people will see results quicker than others, but I just read a magazine article that said if it's been 2 months and no change, you won't ever see a change while using that product! Good luck and I hope you clear up...I'm still searching for the right product (imagine being in your 30's and still have acne...but I had clear skin as a teenager)!

What is honestly the best acne treatment out there?
There are all kinds. What is the better of them all, statistics and your opinion wise? What is honestly the best acne treatment out there?

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.
Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

Hi there.
I suffered with acne since i was around 15. I have tried and tested practically everything that is available to man.
Ive tried over the counter creams, washes, zit zappers.. ive tried medication..ive tried herbal and natural products.. ive tried just the old water and soap. Now to be perfectly honest.. the only thing that was successfullyith me is Roaccutane. I know everyone says that its a harsh drug that has worse side effects.. but for someone who suffered mild-harsh acne, this is the best stuff that i used. I was on the lowest dosage.. and it gets worse before it gets better. But i was at the end of my wits when i began my treatement so i didnt care. From someone who knows the pain and embaressment of acne, i will be honest with u.
Roaccutane did definatly work, i get the occastional pimple here and there, but i also upped my water intake..changed my pillowcase everynite...wash my hair regilarly and make sure i DONT TOUCH MY FACE WITH MY FINGERS...and i STOPPED PICKING...which i believe made a hell of a lot of difference..
if you havent tried roaccutane.. i would recommend it , as long as you are closely monitored and go to a repuatble Dermotologist.
I would also say STAY AWAY from Proactive and all that Cosmotologist crap you get from beauiticians ITS ALL JUNK...
Hope that helps. :

If I go to see a dermatologist, what is the likelihood my acne will be treated successfully?
In addition to that, if there are prescription-only medicines that successfully treat acne, why not put them on sale for the public?
Thanks in advance. If I go to see a dermatologist, what is the likelihood my acne will be treated successfully?
if you use tazorac and you dont need it your skin will be insanely dry. but i had success from going there i have like no acne. but like a docter will make sure the meds are ok for you and safe to use thats yIf I go to see a dermatologist, what is the likelihood my acne will be treated successfully?
I guess it depends upon the dermatologist. As in any field, some are better than others. And, there are different types of acne, so hopefully your dermatologist will tailor your regimen specifically to your type of acne. A lot of acne medications that were once prescription are now available over the counter. However, the oral meds, which do have a risk of side effects, are kept as prescription items. It's the same reasoning as in any other field of medicine.
Acne is very common and medically classified as a skin disease. They are caused by excessive secretion of oily substance called the sebum by sebaceous glands. Although sebum is very good in maintaining skin and hair texture, excess secretion of the same gets stuck in hair follicles and leads to formation of acne lesions. Due to the oily nature of sebum and its exposure to dust and dirt causes bacterial growth and results in what is commonly known as the pimple.
Pimples are not the only outcome of such bacterial formations. Cysts, whiteheads, blackheads are also quite common depending on exposure and skin types. Occurring mainly in the age group of 10 to 40 years, these conditions need to be cared for with various acne products available.
Acne products are made from different materials in different bases to suit different skin types. But the question is: how to decide which is the most suitable products for your skin type? Need to go to the doctor.
Prescription-only treatments are not available to the public because they are especially harsh and can have side-effects. They should only be used under extreme circumstances.
You're better off trying a range of publicly available treatments first. They're more gentle and generally have no side-effects. Only if they are not effective should you seek alternative treatments.
To avoid wasting your money on products that don't work, look for free trial offers. There are a few going around, such as the one listed at the website below. It may be worth having a look.
Good luck!
Accutane is the most commonly prescribed for severe acne but there are many side-effects you would want to go over with your doctor and the pharmacist (just to make sure you truly understand all the risks) Also
if you go on an antibiotic such as tetracycline, realize that if you get an infection by having an antibiotic in your system for an extended period of time, some antibiotics will not work on other infections.
Accutane is specifically for treating acne. It is very effective. It requires monitoring by a doctor because there are risk with taking this medication.
If you go to a dermatologist the odds are very good they can successfully treat your acne.
I would NOT advise you to get accutane, it is a very powerful drug that has many side effects. I would ask about minocycline (pill), and retin-a (cream). I have used that when i break out, and it clears up my acne faster then any other treatment i have used.
Thanks in advance. If I go to see a dermatologist, what is the likelihood my acne will be treated successfully?

Why does my acne worsen when I use acne products?
I am 23 and am now just starting to get acne real bad. Mostly on my chin. It seems that when I use acne products it gets worse. Especially when I use products with salicylic acid. I don't otherwise have sensitive skin. Any suggestions? Why does my acne worsen when I use acne products?
A friend of mine has this problem because he is allergic to salicylic acid. You could try something with sulfur or benzoyl peroxide in it and see if that works any better for you.
PS. I do agree with J B- when you first start using a product it sort of ';sucks'; or ';vacuums'; stuff up from underneath the skin so at first things might get worse as the oil surfaces and then better. I guess you'll just have to stick with if for a while and decide see if it eventually clears up or if it seems to be an allergy to it.Why does my acne worsen when I use acne products?
I feel your pain. We're told that acne is something ';we'll grow out of';, but it's just so not true for so many people.
I struggled for years with mine, until I tried something which literally changed my life. A completely natural method which cleared it in a few days. One big piece of advice I would give is not to use these acne products. I used them for years - really dried my skin out and never helped the acne. Following the advice of the website in the link, I switched to a simple non-comedogenic soap (I use Pears transparent soap), and the difference was incredible, especially when used with his other advice. I was sceptical at first - especially when he goes on to say use castor oil on your skin at night (I mean - who puts OIL on acne prone skin!?) but... I was amazed! It really helped.
I really hope it helps you. It definitely helped me. Big time!
I used many products.

First
Your acne getting worse when you switch to a new product is pretty normal. The medications start drawing stuff out of your skin, and sometimes your pores clog in the process. It takes about a week for acne to get worse, and about 3 weeks for it to start getting better.
This method works because i use it myself on a day to day basis.
I have suffered from acne
since i was 14 and i have started to experiment on different ways to reduce or totally vanish acne.
And this is the way which i have been using and i can see a huge different on my face.
your skin is reacting to the meds in the product.. keep using it for 7 to 10days, if you see no change in your acne or it gets worse stop using it,, skin reacts to new products. even soaps.. so keep at it..

How to get rid of acne scars?
I used to have pretty bad acne. It's all cleared up now but I'm left with a few awful scars! Any suggestions for home remedies or over-the-counter products?
Thanks in advance! How to get rid of acne scars?
tee tree products are goodHow to get rid of acne scars?
To fade an acne scar will be easy. All you've got to do is exfoliate regularly.
Exfoliation is simply the removal of the top layer of skin (called the epidermis).
This layer can be removed by using Glycolic Acids and or Salicylic Acids (chemical peels). Or mechanically (microdermabrasion)
By regularly removing the epidermis...you'll also be removing the skin that is scarred by your acne.
To remove the scar quickly...
...I recommend visiting a doctor and inquiring about a deep facial peel.
A deep peel removes the epidermis at a greater depth. And as a result the scar will disappear in no time.
But... I must warn you that deep peels are expensive.
You can also remove the scars with at-home facial peels. These products usually contain alpha-hydroxy acids and/or beta hydroxy acids.
Or you can buy a facial scrub. This is a cream which contains tiny particles to scrub away the epidermis.
These at home versions are effective and less costly.
But...
...they work slower than the doctor's versions. And you must use them at least 3 times a week if they are to be effective.
prepare a paste of rose water and paste of sandal wood and apply it on the spot where the scars are. Leave it overnight then rinse with cold water the next day. This is a natural and effective way to reduce scars without harming your skin.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne .

Is Is it normal to break out badly after starting to use acne meds?
I haven't had an acne problem in awhile but i noticed my black heads where pretty bad. so i bought the Clean and clear black head scrub pads and the face wash. and have been using it recently along with my usual clearasil cleaning pads. but i alternate the cleaning pads so i don't irritate my skin to bad. one day i use clean and clear the next clearasil. but i broke out pretty horrible overnight. and idk if that's normal. any tips or suggestions? Is Is it normal to break out badly after starting to use acne meds?
Yes that's common, all the bacteria has been blocked by clogged pores but keep going with your cleansing routine it'll clear up soon and you'll have a brighter and smoother complexion.... just suffer through the bad stuff for a while! Exfoliate and moisturize there's no quick fix to perfect skinIs Is it normal to break out badly after starting to use acne meds?
I鈥檓 a beauty therapist and one of the first things I learnt was that products that contain alcohol and bleach are the worst products for your skin. They both dry out your skin which makes your skin freak out and respond in turn by making more oil; more oil 鈥?more pimples. Also having dry skin can make you have more wrinkles in the future. both Clearisil and Clean and Clear's main ingredients are both alcohol and bleach; so for your skins sake stay away from it. If you are looking for a product for oil skin try dermal clay cleanser from dermalogica or if you have ACNE then use clearing skin wash. Out of all the products that I have used in different salons dermalogica is defiantly the best for your skin type. You can buy a travel size pack of the range so you can really see if it suits you with out spending too much. You can buy it only at a beauty salon or on eBay. Hope this helps ;-)
Yep. It's typical. Your skin will usually get worse for two weeks, then start to improve. But any OTC product will only work temporarily. Your skin will become immune after awhile. The dermatologist is the only one who had meds that could clear my skin.
yes it's very normal. it has happened to me many times but as time goes on using the same medication it begins to work. but i suggest you don't use the same products for a long period of time because your skin might become immune to it and begin to stop working.
Maybe you should incorporate benzoyl peroxide in your routine and take out one of those products out...it seems you're only using salicylic acid. Or i maybe wrong...but seriously benzoyl peroxide is the acne bacteria killer so use it in 2.5%.
Good luck Gangsta.

What do you suggest on acne treatment that actually works?
Because I just finished using a bottle of Clean%26amp;Clear Acne Wash and it does not work and I also try the Blackhead Clearing Scrub by Clean%26amp;Clear and it doesn鈥檛 work either. So what worked for you? What do you suggest on acne treatment that actually works?
There is no one brand that works well for this, so don't get married to a brand name or a product description. Here's what you need:
(1) A non-irritating face cleanser. I use Clean %26amp; Clear Foaming Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin or Neutrogena One Step Gentle Cleanser. Seriously, a too-strong cleanser will just make your skin break out more.
(2) If you main problem is blackheads, get an AHA (Alpha Hydroxy Acid) or BHA (Beta Hydroxy Acid) product. What this does is gently exfoliate the surface of your skin PLUS the inside of the pores, which loosens and quickly gets rid of blackheads. I use Paula鈥檚 Choice 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Liquid, but you could also use Clinique Mild Clarifying Lotion or Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion (either the regular one, or the one for Sensitive Skin).
(3) Lastly (and this is the real gets-rid-of-blemishes part), you need a 5% or 10% Benzoyl Peroxide product. I would suggest Clean and Clear Persa-Gel 10, Maximum Strength, but if that is too strong and your skin gets too dry, try Paula鈥檚 Choice Extra Strength Blemish Fighting Solution, which only has 5%.
Incidentally, I don't work for Paula's Choice, or anything, and you certainly don't need to use those products (which you can only get from the website), it's just that I found them to be cheaper than all the alternatives.
Sounds like you're already on the right track by refusing to believe that ProActiv hype and crazy marketing! Good luck! What do you suggest on acne treatment that actually works?

kinda expensive but this is the good stuff.
they have face scrubs, foaming wash, gel wash, cleasing pads, toner, lotion and blemish treatments!
I used to have an acute case of acne when I was younger for many years; it covered my face, back, chest and posterior. I eventually healed myself without the use of drugs. I cured myself through DIET.
-This is what you should avoid/elminate:
fried foods
White bread/flour
starch combinations during the same meal (e.g. potatoes and pasta)
soda/carbonated drinks
sugar/corn syrup
meat/dairy
soft foods (processed foods)
hydrogenated oils (in processed foods)
-you should increase your intake of:
fruits/vegetables, preferably organic (you should have a salad a day, at the least)
8 glasses of water a day
whole foods
black and/or brown bread (whole grains)
nuts
-you should have a balance, of 80% alkaline forming foods, to 20% acid forming foods. (mostly fruits and vegetables)
-----
Basically, your eliminations are poor/sluggish; thats is why some people can get away with eating badly, but you may not. The reason changing your diet to the foods below will help is because your eating foods that are much easier to digest and elminate than those above.
I would check out Edgar Cayce; without his advice I would probably still suffer today.
He also said you can help yourself through osteopathic adjustments to your spine, he said this can create imbalances in your nervous system (if it isn't in proper adjustment) which will affect everything else. I haven't done this yet, as it is expensive; but I assume when I do, I will be able to better digest the aforementioned foods. Through DIET ALONE I have been cured for a number of years.
Don't believe the people who say it doesn't effect it, I swear to god this will help. It helped me. =) good luck!
Just so others are aware, I'm copy/pasting this to others, so they can get advice, because I have been there. i'm not selling or advertising for anyone or anything, i'm not spamming. don't think that, if you see this advice elsewhere.
I used Retin-A back in the day by prescription, but it's since been banned for some reason. Didn't hurt me.
I guess this doesn't help, huh? Sorry.
Well, I have used proactiv and it was a total waste for me. Then I used Clean %26amp; Clear. It didn't work for me either. Now I use Differin. It is expensive but my acne is slowly clearing up. Yay!
i use the mary kay acne treatment gel it works with me very well and its only $7
NEUTROGENA! it works so good..and it makes your skin feel soft and smooth...get the oil-free acne wash...black head scrub, and the on the spot acne treatment cream/lotion stuff....and if you wear make up, then buy the bar of soap (it's orange %26amp; made specifically for acne-prone skin)...it smells like crap, but you'll get used to it. and idk if you're a girl or guy or what, but if you're a girl %26amp; u wear make up, then buy the neutrogena make up products....they're a little more expensive than say..cover girl...but they cover acne up great,
good luck..and I hope it works for you!!
CLEAN AND CLEAR BLACKHEAD CLEARING SCRUB
It worked for me and I have very crazy skin.
well when i had acne problems nothing worked! i even tried that proactiv stuff but that was just a waste. so i started using clearasil and it helped clear my skin really well! but everyones skin is different, maybe you should talk to your doctor or your dermatologist? thats if your acne is really bad.
OK so, i was having the same trouble ur having. what i use, and it really helps is one minocycline cap (its a pill) and benziq wash. now the pill is prescription and i believe the benziq is too (its a cream) but it may not be since its a cream, but i would ask your doctor about those options. also, if u can't get those i would recommend Clearasil ultra, the clearer skin in 3 days. i was using that until i got a free sample of benziq, now benziq may not be available, so if you can't get either the minocycline or benziq i would try the Clearasil.
As per a report many anti-acne products are known to worsen rosacea symptoms. Medical experts strongly urge rosacea sufferers to stop using these products.
Rosacea is a common skin condition that affects many Americans, but it can also spread to the eyes and cause a constant gritty, burning sensation.
I have been in search a product that works on my skin, I finally found it on one of acne rosacea review site. I use ZENMED Skin Support System - Dry Skin, and I saw results in weeks!
I recommend to go for ZENMED Skin Support System - Dry Skin once. Cheers

Hi,
Here is some information on Aloe Vera and Tea Tree which may be of some help to you.
The watery gel from Aloe Vera plant is a highly effective natural cure against Acne. The enzyme-rich gel has very soothing anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. It can also be taken internally and helps clean up and detox the digestive tract. This in turn can help clear up the skin.
Gel or juice of Aloe Vera is highly useful in fading of acne scars. You can grow Aloe Vera plant in your home and apply freshly taken pure Aloe Vera gel to your scar. Otherwise many branded cosmetic companies manufactures pure Aloe Vera gel, so you can choose the best cosmetic companies to get Aloe Vera gel.
Vitamin A is also a natural and effective Acne cure. Vitamin A promotes healthy skin.
Vitamin E also helps in countering Acne. It is a natural antioxidant and beneficial for the skin.
Oil is obtained from the Melaleuca alternifoliais tree from Australia. It is very effective against Acne as it contains bacteria-fighting substances called Terpenes. Acne is often caused by bacteria and the Terpenes either outright kill them or weaken them enough to be destroyed by protective antibodies. There are very little side effects from using Tea Tree Oil.
For more information check out the website http://www.trustwilliam.com/en-GB/Ingred鈥?/a> . You'll see the ingredients are 99.9% Pure Aloe Vera Gel with 'Vitamins A,C %26amp; E' and with 'Tea Tree'.
Hope this helps keep your acne %26amp; scars at bay!!

I'm a black woman and I found a product called Silgel helped to reduce the look of scarring but I bought if from ebay about a year ago. It is usually used for post operative scarring. Bio oil is ok but not brilliant...

What's a facial mask that you can make at home for acne and oily skin?
Im thinking like stuff in a normal home to use. Or items easy to get. Maybe like a fruit mixture. What's a facial mask that you can make at home for acne and oily skin?
kaolin clay and water mixture is great for oily skin, i use it often does wonders for my oily skin. What's a facial mask that you can make at home for acne and oily skin?
cucumber will be the best..
Grind up some oatmeal in the blender and add enough lime/lemon juice to make a paste. Apply this to clean face and scrub off with some water after 10 minutes. Do this daily. This really helped me out.
Aspirin mask. Simple really, just crush a few uncoated aspirin and mix with a little water to make paste and apply to your face. You can google it if you want a more precise method, but its easy.
Fruity Mask
The mask itself is for deep cleansing and unclogging the pores. The carrots are a natural anti-inflammatory which is good if you have breakouts. Carrots have a soothing property in them. The cucumbers are a softening agent for skin. It refreshes and moisturizes the skin. The peaches have emollient properties, and also soothe inflamed (or not) skin.
Ingredients:
6 or 8 ounces of plain yogurt
1 carrot
1/2 peach (fresh, not canned)
1/2 cucumber, peeled
1) Chop the carrot, peach, and cucumber into small pieces.
2) Put it in a food processor (or your handy little chopper).
3) Mix it until it becomes a paste. If it turns runny, don't sweat it, it's still fine.
4) Apply the mask to your face and forehead and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
5) Rinse.
For oily skin with acne try fresh tomato puree - it will remove the excessive oil and soothe the inflammation.Log on to http://tipsfromruby-acne.blogspot.com/ for a few home made tips to heal acne
mix equal amount of tomato juice n cucumber juice.apply on your skin with cotton wool n wash it after it gets dried.it works real good

Does vinegar really work on acne or spots?
I was told its good for spots dries them out and heals faster is it true? Its an old generation thing.Does vinegar really work on acne or spots?
Vinegar ( 5% acetic acid ) help dries up existing acne but becareful as it stings eyes.
Over the counter acne medication, such as benzoyl peroxide will work better on acne, Benzoyl peroxide works by penetrating the skin pores, and eliminating the acne causing bacteria that grows deep in the skin. Benzoyl peroxide is the most commonly used acne treatment because it is affordable, easily available, and nearly as effective as most prescription acne medication.Does vinegar really work on acne or spots?
Different things work for different people. If something truly worked for everyone then nobody would have acne. This isn't the case. And yes, Apple Cider Vinegar (ACV) helps some people. Try drinking 4 teaspoons a day in water. No, I am not joking. And also you can make a ACV toner for your face. 1 part water and 1 part ACV. Good Luck.
I've heard that toothpaste (fluoride free) and apple cider vinegar does it.

What would you say is the most effective product out there for acne?
I know that it does depend on a persons skin, but overall what is the best product that seems to work for a majority of people? What would you say is the most effective product out there for acne?
I am an esthetician in Virginia. Alot of my patients has used Proactive and the skin is really dry and it does not clear up the acne. Some people can use it and love it but other people can not. It has alot of Benzoil Peroxide, you could probley use proactive for about six months and then switch to another skincare line such as cedaphil (which is really gentle)
Tretonion is good too which is a generic form of Retin A but be careful when you are out of in the sun. Your skin can burn really easily.
You need to go to a specialist and find out what skin type you really are first and then go from there!
Good luck to you! What would you say is the most effective product out there for acne?
Proactive didn't work for me or my brother, much to our display. Luckily, I work for a company that has good benefits now and I go to a dermatologist. She has prescribed me BenzaClin, which works wonders.
Proactive.... Awesome product
Benzoyl Peroxide, for treaing your acne. Tretinoin can also be used. You can use mild liquid soap and never touch your skin so often.

What age is acne the worst? What age does acne start to go away?
I'm 13. and i don't have bad acne, but random pimples show up at random times. its very annoying. What age is acne the worst? What age does acne start to go away?
Uck, acne is the worst! I had a handle on my teenage acne and thought it was over once I hit the age of 18...
Then my skin changed, now I'm fighting it all over. If you're uncomfortable, go to the doctor and they can prescribe a mild topical cream that can help. I had one when I was your age and it really worked for me.
Good Luck! What age is acne the worst? What age does acne start to go away?
Acne is different for everyone. Some people don't ever get it, some people get some of it (most people), and some get a lot. Most people get acne when they start puberty, which is at your age now and unless they take care of their skin will continue to have it until their late twenties to early thirties. The best way to keep them away is to wash your face two times a day (different times, not one right after another) and to keep it moisturized so it doesn't get too dry otherwise this can make you break out even more.
I know this is long but I was the same way! Hope it helps!
For myself personally, my skin was the worst between ages 13 and 16 or so. It all depends on genetics (did your parents have acne), and your hormones..so its natural for acne to be its worst during teen years. But everyone is different. Others do not get acne as a teen, but end up getting it as an adult, which can be worse. Then there's the lucky ones that never get it.
I've heard that acne usually subsides in your early 20's..when the hormones have calmed down a lot.. again, everyone is different.
it's different for everybody and the way you treat it. I got it at thirteen, i'm 17 and still have it. Hopefully you wont have my bad luck! geta good cleanser and avoid it spreading everywhere so your skin isnt so used to breaking out. The quicker you treat it, the less severe it will become! good luck!
Acne happens at that age and for many years on, and it effects many many teenagers. It's due to the hormones in your body 'acting up' and causing acne. If you don't have a sever case you shouldn't worry too much about it

How do you treat cystic acne?

Well, cystic acne results from sensitive skin. The best thing u could do is by using an intensive skincare treatment to improve ur skin sensitivity so that no new breakouts will occur.Just cleanse, tone and moisturize twice a day to regulate ur sebaceous glands and prevent new breakouts.Use a purifying mask once a week to detoxify ur face.Facial treatment could enhance ur healing process too.And when ur acne becomes scars, include a scar serum to improve ur skin complexion.Good luck...How do you treat cystic acne?
I have found out through personal experience that treating my acne holistically was the best for me. I found an e book online that taught me the holistic approach to treating acne. I was skeptical at first but these books I found on this website actually work!

I am 25years, and having a combination, sensetive, acne full skin. Even u can nominate a product which is used by a high class actress. Since when u look at Angelina, Jeniffer, and Jessica Alba U feel like to use their products, even it cost a lot. What is the World Best Acne Solution Product?
well, i have same problem with you.
i think you can use Neostrata product which is focused on Oily and Acne skincare. The facial wash is really good. and you also can try their range for Oliy and acne problem like Oily Skin Solution meant as moiturizer, and their sunblock.
You might wanna try their spot treatment gel for acne spots.
Another brand is ocean healthcare product or known as TDF also offer wide range for oily and acne product.Their clay mint mask is very good for skin.
You also can try estee lauder product but it might be expensive.
but if have very bad case of acne, i suggest you to go for chemical peel or deep peel known as VI PEEL offered by skin specialist. this is very good for acne problematic skin. After that, when u start to use these products, you skin will be more healthy, supple and you will look good. You can get more inforamtion from the site, just type VI PEEL in search, yuo will find the site.
GOOD LUCKWhat is the World Best Acne Solution Product?
I know a website that has created a device that has a price for a remover. It removes pimples by sucking them in. It's called www.acne-pimples-suction-yours鈥? Report Abuse
I have really oily skin, especially around my nose, which really bothers me. I use AcneFree, which apparently works better than Proactiv, and it works pretty well. Tea Tree Oil works pretty well too, but you have to get used to the funky smell first. Celebs are either just lucky people who don't have oily skin or people who have the money to have perfect skin. Don't worry, we all have acne anyway!
Lime juice, tomato slices, home made packs can be used for treating acne. You can find more cheap, effective and natural home remedies for pimples at http://arzi.org
Clinique Acne-Solutions kit is amazing.

What can I use on my face to reduce teh visibility of acne scars?
Nothing too exspensive, and nothing that requires alot of commitment. And dont say go to the demitologist, that'll cost an arm and legWhat can I use on my face to reduce teh visibility of acne scars?
use papaya pulp mixed with a pinch of saltWhat can I use on my face to reduce teh visibility of acne scars?
http://www.mederma.com/
works nicely and isn't too expensive.
I use a fade cream that has sunscreen in it already called
Esoterica
It's under $10.00 and that's with tax
wash face twice a day and apply a thin layer (I use it morning and at night before going to sleep)
it does take a few months (depending on how severe the scar is) to fade away but it's so worth it....it made my skin look as if I'd never had any skin problems, ever!!!!!
i got the same problems
THERE IS A MAKE UP FOR SCARS. DON'T KNOW WHAT IT COST .
Bare Minerals Bisque or Summer Bisque depending on your skin tone. They have it at http://www.sephora.com or http://www.qvc.com you do not have to purchase it from the club
Proactiv is amazing but it can be pricey and it charges you every month. There is this new system called Acne-free, it comes in a 3 step kit and its under $15 and I personally think its way better. You will see an improvement in a few days! good luck!
a scar reducing creme. look at the drugstore.
yes i had the same problem. for months i tried products like neutrogena scar fading but it didn't work that well. Tired after my 4th tube of that crap i tried something. in the shower take a washcloth with a exfoliating face wash like st.ives apricot scrub. for about a min, firmly and carefully massage your face and rinse. this is very cheap like $4 for the wash and cloth. i after a couple weeks i notice that scars that have been on my cheek for years were gradually fading...
Well, if it's something you want you might have to commit to something. However, using cocoa butter or neosporin on the scars on a regular basis might help, as well as drinking lots of water and taking vitamin E suppliments. You can also break open the vitamin E capsule and put the gel on the scars. Be sure to get a good moisturizer like Saint Ives (you can get it at target or walmart) and use it after you wash your face or shower.
PS The vitamin E gel also works for cuticles! :-)
try maderma its for scars just ask your doc about at your next appointment
I use clean and clear spot treatment cream when I have a big break out and it works very well! Pretty much overnight. Proactiv is great also but can be quite expensive to get. I would look for any type of Neutrogena/Clean %26amp; Clear cream or face wash which go around $5-8 dollars
What worked for me was Palmers Cocoa Butter, for scars. It made them totally go away. In less then a week, once @ night, they started to fade. It took about 2 months (I'd forget some nights) and they were gone. It's been over a year and they are still gone. Good Luck. Oh, I got it at Walmart. It's not the lotion, it's got a different texture, it's made for scars.

How to get rid of acne scar without getting lazer treatments?
I rarely get alot of acne, but if i get a zit or two its above my nose, on my forehead. Usually i let them naturally heal but i have popped 1 or 2 and they have left a few small red marks on my face. what the least difficult way to get rid of the scars without going to a dermatoligist? How to get rid of acne scar without getting lazer treatments?
I read this article, http://www.bukisa.com/articles/119207_fix-acne-vichy-normaderm-system-cleanserlotiontoner , and i am starting to use the anti imperfections lotion part only and it really does seem to get rid of blemishes within a couple days!
Also in that article it mentions the night time lotion fading scars significantly.. i haven't tried it but it seems pretty reliable. =)
good luck! How to get rid of acne scar without getting lazer treatments?
I've been in that situation and there is really nothing you can do about it. There are things you can do to try to reduce the blemishes and get rid of acne/pimples temporarily but you will always be finding yourself cleaning your face or your body depending on where it's at.
I mean of course your acne should go away eventually but for some this is the case their whole life.
I'm 29 years old and have been suffering from these little pests since I was a teenager. I tried all sorts of face washes from the local grocery store and what not, but nothing seemed to work. If anything it would just make my skin dry and itchy.
Literally the best acne face wash I've ever used has been this stuff called clearpores. It has got rid of the acne to quickest and has been a success ever since I got it. It's unique cause of it's herbal supplement you take a long with it that helps your skin from the inside out. I saved money on it at skincleansingsystem.com at the time which was helpful.
You should really look into this stuff and if you can to assure the best results, get the 3 month supply because if it doesn't work it will still save you butt on the return policy.
Well good luck and best wishes.
Get Rid of Acne Fast - Stunning Tips to Banish Acne and Get Your Clear and Healthy Skin Back
To know how to get rid of acne fast, here are some practical tips you may want to consider.
Do not Pop your Pimples. Many teenagers often think that when they pop their zits, they are on their way to saying goodbye to those unwanted pimples. But chances are, they're actually making it worse. Popping zits can generally spread the infection and may often result to the development of more pimples. However, if you really cannot keep your hands away from your pimple, just make sure you do it safely and correctly. That is, you should just target that very pimple and after which, put a mixture of ground cinnamon and honey on the area.
Exfoliate. Removing dead skin cells is also another secret towards finally saying goodbye to your acne for good. You can try using natural defoliants like finely-ground walnut shells before scrubbing it gently on your face. You can also try using over-the-counter defoliants like glycolic acid or salicylic acid but ask your pharmacist as to how you can use it correctly.
It is normal for teenagers to whine about the discomfort acne brings them. That is why, understanding the ways on how to get rid of acne fast is probably the best solution to worry no more about pimples.
Effective Acne Treatment %26amp; Acne Scar Treatment
The following ways are some of the effective ways to treat acne:
* Washing your faces more frequently with oil-free solutions to remove excess oil, make-up and and impurities.
* To keep bacteria at bay, don鈥檛 touch your face with your fingers or lean your face on objects that collect sebum and skin residue like the telephone receiver.
* If you wear glasses or sunglasses, make sure you clean them frequently to keep oil from clogging the pores around your eyes and nose.
* Keep pillowcases, sheets, and blankets clean by washing them often. This gets rid of the dirt, dead skin, and oil that build up on them at night.
* If you get acne on your body, try not to wear tight clothes, which doesn鈥檛 allow skin to breathe and may cause irritation. You also might want to stay away from scarves, headbands, and caps, which can collect dirt and oil
* Keep hair clean and out of your face to prevent additional dirt and oil from clogging your pores.

Sweating:
Areas of the skin that sweat more profusely than average is more likely to develop acne. Hot and humid weather can make acne worse, especially in the tropic. Acne is more common and very severe in most cases for people living in the tropics.
Although inefficient face washing does not cause acne, soap and water will reduce the number of bacteria getting into the whiteheads and turning them black. Some evidence suggests that the lightly abrasive buffing pads may help.
Medications: There are a few, very few, medications that make acne worse. If your acne gets worse when you start a new medications consult your doctor for a substitute medication if at all possible. It can take months to recover from a full blown acne flair up.
Benzyl peroxide is an ingredient in most acne medicines that has been proven to help with mild to moderate cases of acne. The cheap ones are just as good as the expensive ones as long as they have benzyl peroxide in them.
The pustule that gets bigger and bigger with no head in sight may require a prescription strength antibiotic lotion like clindamycin or erythromycin. If cysts and scars begin to form then you may need to take antibiotics by mouth. They must be taken everyday and exactly as prescribed.
鈥?Hi, I am a professional skin care specialist. I strongly recommend Clear. Now to people as it has proven results.
I have had clients come to me after using Proactive and Neutrogene products and has not worked for them.
Quickest no product way... is to rip your face off. But that may not be a good idea...although you may want to from time to time.
Use a oil-free hypoallergenic face wash 2-3 times a day so that oil and dirt cannot accumulate in your pores. Birth control pills are also sometimes prescribed to lessen acne with positive results.. don't know if you're open to that.
Whatever you do, just don't pop them.
The quickest and easiest way to clear up acne is to go tanning, it will clear it up fairly fast. Just make sure not to tan for too long or too often.
Once it is cleared up, once every two weeks of tanning will keep it gone.
Good Luck... :)
I had to have a dermatologist prescribe antibiotics for me. This made my skin so much clearer. Good luck.

try to weaken the perxide with water or alcahol a little at a time until you are using mostly water and very little peroxide that should wean your skin from it
To clear this for once and all try this. Quarter teaspoon of Epson Salt add 8oz of apple juice and drink it. This will clean out the liver. If the liver is clean so is the skin. Try what i have wrote down there twice a week. I promise you will see results
Sure. 50mg of zinc three times per day for 4-5 months. You will have to keep taking the zinc for the full 4-5 months. Your skin should clear up at the end of the cycle. Take a good multi-vitamin, some extra vitamin E (400-800IU), and 3-12 grams of Omega 3 fatty acids as well. Hope this helps!
try talking 2 ur doctor...he might hve a recommendation or a prescription 4 u
hope this helps!
Pro active
use neutrogena oil-free products for acne. its good and mild on ur skin
use oil-free facial wash, oil-free mosturiser and daily scrub which clears the scars and stops breakout of pimples and blackheads
use proactive! i swear it works sooo well. in the beginning the acne gets worse but then clears up and stays clear unless you stop using it. it might get kind of expensive too.

How long did it take you before you have finally overcome your ACNE problem?
Please suggest products/brands, if you'd like to.
Thanks. How long did it take you before you have finally overcome your ACNE problem?
Some people do not outgrow it. There are four types of Acne. Depending on breakouts.
How often? When?
One who did not have a problem might get adult acne, and some teens grow out of it.
If its a concern, go get a facial and reccomendations on skin care. The products that your friend might use and reccomend might not work for you and can make the skin more irretated and can lead to more break outs.
If you only have a spot or two one a month don't go and get a acne kit, you don't have a problem. Just get some spot treatment. Make sure you are cleaning your skin, taking off all your makeup, tone and moisturize. How long did it take you before you have finally overcome your ACNE problem?
im still at 25 dealing with it, see a dermatogolist if you can they put me on accutane and its works amazingly
I use Clearisil for adults with success.
I would also like to mention that I have an appointment for professional photos tomorrow and my face, which is normally pretty clear, has 3 pimples on it. Phooey!
you never fully over come acne. wash you face.
I really used to use Oxy, and all of that, but I found my acne not getting any bettter. I now just wash my face with warm water and soap, and i am virtually acne-free.
My three kids all had acne (I didn't). They all needed to see a dermatologist to clear the acne. My first had acne from age 11 years to 15 years because I didn't realize she wouldn't outgrow it. A year or so with prescription meds and it gave her a beautiful complextion. She had fairly severe acne. My second girl's acne wasn't as bad, but we had to put her on some serious meds (accutane). Her skin eventually cleared, but it took at least 2 years of trying to find the solution. My third has relatively mild acne and is using otc products to keep it under control. He's not too bothered by it. If your acne isn't too bad, wash your face 2-3 times a day and use otc products. If its bad, see a doctor. Good luck.
Until the first time I had a baby so, 23.
Until then I had to go to a dermatologist and use Retin-A and a topical antibiotic to keep it under control. The Retin-A helps you turn over the old skin faster and build more collagen -smoothing things out. The antibiotic kept small problems from getting infected and big. It is the only thing that worked until my hormones had a big shift after pregnancy. But, I'm in my 30's now, (several babies later) and I don't have ANY problems with acne anymore.
If you can see a dermatologist they can really help. I was embarrased at first but it made such a big difference...
I'm 57 and STILL get a form of acne---except now it comes in as water filled pimples rather then whiteheads... I found a face scrub by Johnson %26amp; Johnson that works exceptionally well to keep the acne at bay but the trick is you HAVE to wash with it twice a day... once is not enough. It's called CLEAN AND CLEAR MORNING BURST----it has little orange scrub ';beads'; in it.... I've tried EVERYTHING , creams, lotions, pills, alcohol, even fruit rubs and nothing has worked better for me then this CLEAN AND CLEAR stuff. It MAY not work as well for YOU as it has for me, but 50 years of acne is pretty well under control when I use it... OH and I had HORRENDOUS acne as a teenager!!!!
It comes and goes. I'm 25 and my acne is worse now than it was when I was 20.
Thanks. How long did it take you before you have finally overcome your ACNE problem?
Some people do not outgrow it. There are four types of Acne. Depending on breakouts.
How often? When?

Does anybody know of any good home remedies to get rid of acne ?
I've tried using cleansers and almost everything but they say that home remedies work better but the only problem is is that i dont know any so could u guys help me out here ?Does anybody know of any good home remedies to get rid of acne ?
1. crush an asprin and moisten it with a bit of water, apply the paste to the pimple let it sit for a couple minutes before washing it off with soap and water. It will reduce the redness and sooth the sting If pimple persists, repaeat the procedure until it's gone.
2. make a paste by mixing 4 Tbs. salt with 3 Tbs. olive oil.
Pour mixture onto your hands and fingers and work it into your face. Leave it on for a minute or two, then rinse it off with warm, soapy water. Apply for one week, then cut back to two or three times weekly. You should see a noticeable improvement in your condition (salt cleanses pores by exfoliations while olive oil restores teh skin's natural moisture.
3. use a dab of non-gel, non-whitening toothpaste on the offending spot(s) and it/they should be dried up by morning. This remedy works best on pimples that have come to a head.
4. a dab of window cleaner.Does anybody know of any good home remedies to get rid of acne ?
Sheesh. That will clear it up, but it's harsh on your skin. Report Abuse
The only home remedy I know of is to totally eliminate sugar both actual and substitute from your diet. You would have to avoid all processed foods (check the labels on the boxes/bags for maltose, dextrose, sucrose, fructose, lactose, etc as they are all sugars). No sodas, chocolates, candies or sweets.
If you are good about this for 2 weeks, you should start seeing improvement. To speed things up even faster, eating fish, like tuna or salmon about 2-3 meals a week (lunches are ok), and the old-fashioned oatmeal (not at the same time :)) help too.
Some say making the oatmeal into a warm facial mask, or oatmeal scrub is effective, but I think eating it will do better in the long run.

How well do the Clinique acne products work?
they dont work that well becuz i used 2 use them and my acne never went away.
You should go 2 ur doctor and tell them tht you need an acne medication. THe best one tht i use is called Benzaclin i thnk.
It works so good its like magic. your face will be clear in about 4 days!
so much better than proactive!!!How well do the Clinique acne products work?
Everyone's skin is different, but their Acne Solutions line was a NIGHTMARE for me. I was really looking forward to trying it, having been a Clinique devotee, but it was so awful that it actually turned me off of their products almost entirely. My face was flaking all over, even worse than that of my friend who was on Accutane. It was painful and abrasive to use and my skin was red and raw. If you're looking for good acne products, I would recommend the Neutrogena Acne Stress Control for drugstore products and DHC Deep Cleansing Oil or the Acerola line for higher end products. Good luck honey! How well do the Clinique acne products work?
I used Clinique for a year and a little bit. I kept on experiencing breakouts but I thought it was normal. I would wake up in the morning and my skin would be really dry and red. I went to the doctor to see if I was allergic but I wasn`t. So I started asking people at my high School and most of them said that the same thing happened to them. So now I use a company called Beauty control and now my skin is amazing I would highly recommend using it!
Good luck!
They work well, but are expensive. I would suggest Neutrogena if you are looking for something cheaper that is just as effective. If money is not an issue, then yes, basically everything Clinique makes is fabulous!
I found that by using the Clinique 3 step products, that helped clear any breakouts on my face.
But Revitol have an acne spot gel at http://www.revitol.com/acne-spot-gel/?ai鈥?/a> which may be better suited for acne.
I find them to be a bit too drying. I like their facial moisturizers though they do not make me break out.
I have tried them and in my opinion it doesn't work. Now I use Proactive and it's the best I've used.

A wash toner and moisturizer with SPF but oil free would be a good regimen for a young girl. also vitamins!anti virus protection

How can I prevent more acne from forming?
Okay I finally got rid of the all the acne I have struggled with for years. Now that its gone I don't want more to keep popping in. How can I prevent new zits from appearing? How can I prevent more acne from forming?
like roygiggl said you should wash your acne every morning and night with a good non harsh soap. But to get it under control quicker, you should wash with witch hazel or alcohol 3or 4 times a week ,not every day because it will dry you out so much. So along with this regiment you will need a good moisturizer to combat dry skin. How can I prevent more acne from forming?
Wash yor face with good soaps like Dove not harsh soaps.
Also I use a product called Roaccutane and it works really well in clearng away my pimples and it is suppose to keep them away for a long time(for years):
I use Roaaccutane and it works real good:
One word my friend...Roaccutane!
I have had bad acne for many many years and trust me it was a real pain for me...i hated it terribly!
I have been on MANY products such as proactiv(which when you finsih using it brings out the pimples worst), neatrogena, clearasil, ambi and many more!
None of them worked for me beause when i finished using the proactiv which was a waste of my momey the pimples came back out soooooo much worst than it was in the beginning!
I went to my dermatologist last month and he introduced me to Roaccutane. I decided to use it, and i am NOT dissapointed at all with the excellent results that I have.
I have been using it for a month so far and within the first 2 days i had seen results..the pimples were disappearing(thats what we all want right?)
I am still using it because I have to complete my year.
The best part of it is that it is a tablet that you take. Its not a soap or a toner or a 4-5 step procedure that gets on your nerve..just one little tablet.
Its easy and stress free and best of all...Brings results!
You willl not be dissapointed if you try this product.
This product is only available through perscription by a dermatologist.
Use it and see for yourself!

This treatment last for about 7 years after you finish your course with it or longer.
Hey, I understand your frustration!
I bought numerous anti-pimple/acne products but it doesn't help at all! I wasted like hundreds over dollars and have no results.
The most frustrating part is.. you think your face is about to be pimple/acne-free and you realize a new one is coming! ARGH!
I used to be in your shoes so I really understand how you feel. Now my skin is perfect and beautiful!
There's a book that helped me a lot - it clears pimple/acne myths and teaches you the real cure! It only took 2-3 days for my acne/pimples condition to improve significantly! This book has been the most talked about among determologists because it will help you prevent future pimple breakouts. Learn more about the book here: http://www.AcneFreeInThreeDays.tk
Keep up the good work. If your not washing your face in the morining and before bed, that would be a good prevention too. I use witch hazel or alcohol at night to rub on acne. It usually dries out the acne within a few days or sooner. Another important tip, is to drink plenty of water.

The products you are using, are they Salsylic Acid or Benzoyl peroxide? BP can be VERY drying. I personally like SA better. Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! Try finding a face lotion with SA in it. Clean and Clear has a good moisturizer with SA and it helps keep pimples at bay. It is only about $5 a bottle and lasts about 2 months and you can get it at your local store. I have used this in the past and it works well. Personally, I use Biore products (which you get over the counter. Their products range from $5-$10). They are harsh on pimples, but not on your face.
Personally, Proactive didn't work for me. I have been using Biore products for over a year and I hardly ever break out! Occasionally I will get one or two, but nothing bad. I use Biore Ice Cleanser for acne and Biore warming facial scrub every morning for blackheads (This stuff works. I notcied a DRASTIC diffrence in my blackeads being GONE within 2 weeks) . And then 3-4 day s a week I use Biore purging pore cream scrub. For body acne I use Neutrogena acne body wash I never break out on my body. It gets 110 in summer so sweat in inevitably, yet I never break out. Give it a try. All of it is cheap too. About $5-10 depending on what you buy! Salsylic acid it really good. It is in almost all acne washes. Benzoyl Peroxide is too drying for me! I think you will just need to experiment with products until you find what works for you. Remember, it can take 1 month for products to fully begin working! Good Luck!
if u wear make up stop wearing it 4 awhile...i did tht and now my skin looks so perfect i dont even need to use makeup!!! u can still wear ur eye stuff but even after a couple days i noticed the difference and i hardly get acne n e more even when i wear make up!!! i had lil scars to and u cant see them n e more!!!
ask your doctor, he can prescribe you something to make them heal faster and prevent more spot breakouts.
Yes there is a solution which you can consider. Try this Jap brand Miho facial pack to dry up acne or pimples area. Afterwhich apply Miho spot touch to lighten the area. It also helps to heal acne or pimples skin.

I recently went to the doctor and he told me that those acne removal creams such as clearasil don't work very well as they are comercial brands and available anywhere you have to go to a pharmacy and ask for a special acne cream or gel. The one I got was acnegel 5 and within 4 days I can already see a difference.
The doctor also perscribed me antibiotics for the red dry sort of rashes on you face so my advise would be to see a doctor.

Try a cream called Lightenex, its really good but for darker (olive or Asian skin), or bio oil is good (can get from boots) otherwise rub lemon juice on face, leave for 15 mins and wash off - to this twice a week. To soothe break outs slap some live yoghart on your face until it dries. You could also try a beauty treatment called microdermabrasion but its around 拢50 and you need more than one treatment. If its really bad you could have laser treatment but this gets really pricy. Good luck.
Apply lemon juice directly to your face twice a day and let it sit for at least 15 minutes. You can also apply it at night before retiring and wash it off in the morning after rising. This will also increase your sensitivity to sunlight so wear sunscreen when you go out.
Apply sour cream over your entire face, let it sit for 15 minutes and then wipe it off with a towel or tissue, but don鈥檛 rinse.
Cucumber juice (you can also crush a cucumber into paste and use the resulting material)
A mixture of 2 oz. Lemon juice, 2 oz. rum, 1 tsp. glycerin, and 4 tbsp. buttermilk - let the mixture set on your face for 30 minutes and wash, no more than twice a day.
A mixture of 1 tbsp. yogurt and a dribble of honey. Apply this directly to your scars and it let set for 30 minutes before washing.
=)
dabbing on egg white then washing it off after half hour
putting your head over a sink full of boiling water with a towel over your head-stand there for a while then splash on cold water (be careful though!)xHow to get rid of acne stains on face?
use a scalpal
